My soldering iron had soulder on the tip of it so i cut off about a 1/4 inch of the tip and it is clean down there so idk if i should still use it or not. Rab box 4 diameter 2. 1/4 steel firebox with 1 of ceramic wool insulation wrap with another 1/4 box built to cover that. Im making it out of ceder, it will sit on a row or 2. I already had the 3 flex hose for use with the pictured external smoke box.
The amaze'n tube is great, and i have one, but yes, you can get good smoke flavor with just chunks and hd foil. Trash can was $22 and all the ducting cost about $11. We both concluded that we wanted a sturdier insulated box in stainless steel (inside and out) with simple replaceable mechanicals. It can be removed by undoing the 2 1/4 nuts.
