I carried my 15.5ft kayak in the bed with an extender. Was not happy with how little support that provides for a long kayak. Had to go with the thule clamp on roof rack over the cab as the oem is not compatible with hullavators. I was looking all over the place to find a ladder rack for my 2008 ridgeline.

I do want to at times transport our two 12' yaks separately from the trailer, and also keep the truck bed clear for my custom built (diy) bike racks, which is a pretty slick setup allowing for two hybrid mountain/comfort bikes and our dog's trailer all secure and locked in the truck's bed (not hanging over the tailgate).
